I am a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist, meaning that I work exclusively with children. I provide assessment and treatment for children with communication difficulties. This may include:
  • Ability to listen to adults or focus on activities.
  • Ability to interact with others e.g. starting or continuing a conversation, eye contact and turn taking.
  • Ability to remember and/or understand what others say to them.
  • Ability to use words or link words together to form sentences.
  • Pronunciation.

I ask parents (if the sessions are taking place at home) or nursery/school staff (if the sessions are taking place within the education setting) to sit in on each therapy session. This is so that they can observe the techniques used to manage and develop the child's communication skills and continue with these activities in between my sessions. This is so that the child has as much exposure to the targets as possible, thus optimising their progress.

All Speech and Language Therapists hold a degree qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and are members of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am also a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP).
